RCMP seeks missing Swift Current girl
The RCMP has asked for the public#8217;s help in finding a missing Swift Current teenage girl. A news release issued by the RCMP#8217;s Swift Current city detachment said Denecia Funk was last seen leaving her residence at about 11 p.m. Sunday and did not return home.
Regina police issue a flurry of tickets during two-day blitz
The Operation HandsFree enforcement blitz was just the ticket for nabbing those who were illegally talking or texting on their cellphones. The emphasis of the blitz on Thursday and Friday was to detect those who were driving and using a cellphone without a hands-free communication device, but members of the Regina Police Service (RPS) were also on the lookout for other traffic infractions.
Regina city police investigating overnight collisions
The Regina Police Service is looking into two separate collisions that sent several people to hospital early Sunday morning. At about 1:26 a.m., emergency crews were called to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of 4th Avenue and Winnipeg Street. According to information released Sunday by city police, a Chrysler Intrepid was driving south on Winnipeg Street when it struck a van that was stopped at a red light, also facing south. Police say the Intrepid was travelling at a high rate of speed at the time.
